Welcome to Erin Putnam's blog!

My husband, Todd, and I have been married for 5 years. We have a 2 perfect children named Presley and Nate...and Lucy the chihuahua is still around, as well. We live in Memphis on Mud Island and really enjoy it! We have a great group of friends and you'll almost always find us together cooking out in someone's yard or at Movie and a Pizza...leaving the island is a rarity! I hope you enjoy my blog, as I try to keep everyone updated on our lives.

About Me

I like the pool, the beach, and any water - warm weather combo. I like shopping for Presley and Nate...way more fun than shopping for myself. I like cooking when I don't have to, running when the weather is perfect, the day the maid comes and my house is clean (even if for a little while), grocery shopping, minivans, pregnant women (just not me), a bubble bath and a sudoku puzzle, baby pictures of my husband, my hair the day after it was washed, reality TV, Oprah, when Todd takes the trash out without me asking, half-baked ice cream (I could seriously eat the stuff every day!), watching my babies sleep, talking about memories of my mom and grandmom, someone else choosing the restaurant, when the car beside me has spinners, strawberries and melted milk chocolate, and funny songs on your ring tone. I don't like feeling I need to exercise, folding itsy bitsy clothes, computer problems, hot leather seats, bugs, sun glasses that are too tight on your head, alarms, annoying girl drama, paying for daycare when it's closed, long fingernails, hugging people I barely know, people who use the word 'love' too liberally, and tacky children's clothes. All and all, I think I'm pretty normal.

The weather is wonderful here.  Todd and I are trying to get the yard looking halfway presentable for Presley's birthday party next month...we'll see what we accomplish in the next couple of weeks.  The previous owner over-landscaped, so we last week we had several bushes and trees taken up.  We were going to lay sod today, but went to the store to get it and it looked horrible.  So, we'll wait another week or 2 and see if some new, healthier grass comes in.  We did plant our mini-garden, though.  We have about 5 tomato plants, a few green peppers, a orange pepper, squash, and eggplant...yum!
Presley is a real walker these days.  She obviously hasn't perfected it, but she is feeling a lot more confident.  Todd and I crack up watching her.  She has also started saying "uh-oh"...so, whenever something is dropped (or thrown, for that matter), you here her "uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh."  Here are some pics out enjoying the weather yesterday and one from this morning.

I spoke too soon...we're walking!

Well, just a couple of days ago I mentioned that Presley was not interested in walking...well, she made a liar of me.  This weekend she started taking a couple of steps at a time, and today she will take several...getting halfway across the room!  Todd was off today, so we both got to witness it.  Here are some pics.  We are so excited!

a taste of having 2 children...

I kept my friend Meg's little one last night.  Jackson is 8 months old and is Presley's first boyfriend.  Of course they got hungry for supper at the same time...so Presley was in her chair, Jackson was on the table in the bumbo seat, and I had a spoon in each hand.  I'm pretty sure I never want twins ;)  But, they played and had a big time.  Here are some pics.

Again, I know...

Ok, I realize I've done 3 posts in the last few minutes...I don't fully know what I'm doing.  I thought I'd actually write some stuff this time.

Our sweet Presley is just a month away from being 1 year old!  I can't believe it.  She is so fun!  She just got her 5th tooth this week.  She is eating so many new foods.  Daycare fed her a breaded chicken patty and beans the other day!  I was shocked, but now that she finally has some teeth, she can eat most foods.  She is very "healthy"...I'm guessing somewhere between 22-23 lbs.  I thought she would be walking by now, since she has done most physical stuff early, but she is just not interested.  She scales the walls and furniture and sometimes stands on her own, but no real steps, yet.  She is definitely Todd's child...what I mean is FEARLESS!  Why would you sit and slowly rock on your horsy when you can stand up on the seat and rock so hard it almost tips over?  Philene would have a fit...she will probably run out and buy her a helmet as soon as she reads this!  Ha!  She pushes any object she can up to the couch so she can use it as a stepping stool to get up there.  After taking a few tumbles, she has learned how to stay on the couch/bed.  She also sleeps just like her dad.  No problem what so ever...put her in bed, throw on her blanket Mary Jane made, and she immediately rolls over and goes to sleep.  Really, though, she is such a good child and Todd and I were definitely blessed!

Easter '08 Pics

Here we go...

Well, I'm straying from the myspace world to try out this blog stuff.  My sister-in-law has had one for a while, and a friend of mine just started one...so, why not me?  Bare with me while I try to figure this stuff out?!?
